Titan Series Almería 2022

Last summer two juvenile specimens of European Scops Owl (Otus scops) arrived at Oasys MiniHollywood, which due to the high temperatures were dehydrated and disoriented.

After the successful previous editions, the Titan Desert Series Almería once again crossed the film sets of Oasys MiniHollywood on October 9, 10 and 11.

This fantastic test of hardness and resistance has had a successful edition around the province and in the Tabernas Desert they witnessed the best national and international athletes.

At the Oasys MiniHollywood film studios, West Camp was established to welcome the Titans of the world’s most adventurous stage mountain bike race to a rigorous, high-endurance, and self-improvement test.

During four stages, Toyo and Tabernas became the protagonists of this bike race of almost 400 kilometers.

Once again Oasys MiniHollywood joins the events that promote the province of Almería and sport, in a magical setting such as the Tabernas Desert, unique in Europe.

Flying free

Last summer two juvenile specimens of European Scops Owl (Otus scops) arrived at Oasys MiniHollywood, which due to the high temperatures were dehydrated and disoriented.

After several months in which the park’s veterinary team focused on the recovery and acclimatization of these new tenants, in addition to rehabilitation and training to learn to hunt and be independent, last week and in collaboration with the Green Committee of Senator Hotels & Resorts, were released at the Finca del Olivar Ecológico de Rafael Alonso, in the vicinity of the Tabernas Desert.

In this farm with a Mediterranean landscape full of ecological olive trees and low scrub, the little scops owls will be able to survive and hunt the insects and small rodents they feed on.

Both Oasys MiniHollywood and the Rafael Alonso farm seek to promote education and awareness of the climate change crisis we are facing, betting on organic farming and respecting the environment and the land, without using chemical products.

From Oasys MiniHollywood with the recovery and release of these two specimens of scops owl, we want to emphasize the enormous work of Conservation of Nature and the Environment that we carry out, since today more than a million animal and plant species are threatened, so the work of the Zoos is of vital importance for the protection of species in danger of extinction.

MLC Awards Awarded to Oasys MiniHollywood

The MLC Awards Association of Wisconsin, USA, has awarded the Oasys MiniHollywood park the Gold Star Award of its 2022 Edition Festival for its trajectory in these 57 years in the Western Film industry.

In addition to its history and contribution to cinema, Oasys MiniHollywood began serving as the setting for the famous Dollar Trilogy directed by Sergio Leone and with the music of Ennio Morricone, as well as a launching set for actors such as Clint Eastwood, Lee Van Cleef, Bud Spencer, Eli Wallach, etc..

Uninterruptedly, Oasys MminiHollywood has participated in large and small productions, such as the last three Westerns that were filmed here in 2021. Titles such as Aqua Brava by director and president of the American academy Freddy Moyano, the second installment of the trilogy by director Enrique Novials, Kill him and don’t come back alone, or the title, 30 of the greats, by Miguel Calvo and Víctor Javier Castro from Almería. .

All of them presented in the selection of the next Almería Western Film Festival 2022.

Tabernas Desert 2022

On March 25, 26 and 27, the most extreme BTT sporting event will be held, the Tabernas Desert 2022, one of the toughest extreme bike race at national level, which will take place in Oasys MiniHollywood and the Tabernas Desert natural area on the 25th . The main route will be running through the natural environment and the departure and arrival of the participants will take place in our film set.

This bike race consists of three stages on three different days. Participants may choose to participate in one stage or all three, to test themselves in the XTREMDesert or PROdesert modalities, where they can compete individually, or in same-sex or mixed pairs.

During the journey, the participants will cross the largest desert in Europe and the sets of our park, where the start and finish circuit will be prepared in the main square of the western town.

Important runners at the national level will participate with all kinds of models of mountain bikes and extreme sports bikes, in this hard and difficult race for which they have been training for several months.

Thus, Oasys MiniHollywood supports, as always, sports and the promotion of the natural area of the Tabernas desert, as well as the province of Almería.

¨Kill them all and don´t come back alone¨

The short film by director Enrique Novials, «Kill him and don’t come back alone» will have its premiere at Oasys MiniHollywood with the presence of the main actresses, Emma Ros and Marzia Liuzzi, in addition to that of Enrique Novials.

After “Calamity Jane 1882”, which was already at the Almeria western festival, resulting in 31 nominations at festivals and 15 awards, the director makes his second installment of what will end up being a feminist western trilogy, since at this moment it is preparing the last production of the trilogy, “Letters to the daughter”.

It is a western with many nods to classic westerns, as the title itself indicates, since it is inspired by Castellari’s “Kill them and come back”, which was also shot in Almería.

Oasys MiniHollywood has been the perfect setting to set the new short by Novials, where Carol, the protagonist, tries everything to rescue her daughter, who has been kidnapped in a bank robbery by the Rubio’s gang. All hope seems to vanish until a bounty hunter, Diana, enters the scene.

Novials gives its protagonists the strength and female empowerment so typical of today, giving a twist to the classic western where women only appear as brides, wives or samaritans of love in the Wild West Saloons, thus breaking with the cliché of the Western genus.

On February 12, in addition to the usual Oasys MiniHollywood shows, customers will be able to attend the premiere of said film. At the end of the day, different passes will be given to enjoy this premiere at the Oasys MiniHollywood Saloon.

XVI Titan Series in Oasys MiniHollywood 

After the success of last year’s Titan Desert, this year the Organization resumes the test within the scope of the Titan Series Almeria, which has held its first edition in the Oasys MiniHollywood film sets last December.

This fantastic test of hardness and resistance has had a successful edition in the surroundings of Almería.

The names of Óscar Pujol and the German Naima Madlen, will go down in the history of the Titan Series Almería, as the winners of this first test developed in the natural environment of the Tabernas Desert.

Both participants won the stage 1 leaders’ jersey and have defended it by giving the best of themselves in a rigorous test, of great resistance and personal improvement.

The province of Almería and all the magical enclaves that define it, such as the Cabo de Gata Natural Park, Sierra Alamilla, Sierra de los Filabres and the only desert in Europe, the Tabernas Desert, witnessed the best national and international athletes.

Set on the Oasys MiniHollywood movie sets, West Camp hosted the Titans of the world’s most adventurous stage mountain bike race.

During three stages, Oasys MiniHollywood joined this sporting and extreme event that promotes the province of Almería, sports and healthy living.

The Organization and Oasys MiniHollywood are already preparing the 2022 Titan Series Almería.
