Grullas damisela en Oasys MiniHollywood

Más pequeña que la grulla común, la grulla damisela (Anthropoides virgo) tiene un aspecto más elegante, una zona caudal más atenuada, y el cuello y el pico más cortos.

En la actualidad se encuentra amenazada en vida libre por lo que la llegada de esta pareja a Oasys MiniHollywood, constituye un rayo de esperanza en el Programa de cría Europeo en cautividad (EEP) de esta preciosa especie.

Aunque extinta en España desde hace muchos años, gracias a las dataciones históricas y los registros fósiles se asegura su reproducción a finales del siglo XX en marismas y lagunas de Andalucía, Extremadura y Castilla la Mancha. Actualmente, en vida libre se distribuye entre los continentes de Asia, Noroeste de África y la parte occidental de Europa.

Dicha especie se alimenta de las partes verdes de las plantas, semillas, insectos y otros invertebrados. En verano sobre todo, puede consumir algún pequeño vertebrado y se reproducen en abril-mayo. La hembra pone 2 huevos, de color gris verdoso con manchas pardas y grises, y los incuba ella sola. El macho cuida de ella, sustituyéndola brevemente. Los pollos nacen después de 27-28 días.

La grulla damisela forma parte de una de las 15 especies de grulla existentes en todo el mundo. Los ejemplares adultos se caracterizan por su coloración ceniza en el pecho y las alas y de color negro en el cuello. Otra de las particularidades de estos animales es el color naranja intenso de sus ojos, con plumas blancas que surgen desde la comisura posterior de los párpados hasta la parte posterior de la cabeza.

Birth at Oasys MiniHollywood

A new member of Somali Wild Ass (Equus africanus somalicus) gallops through the savannah in semi-freedom with his mother at Oasys MiniHollywood.

This species in critical danger of extinction, has less than 200 specimens in the wild distributed in small areas of Eritrea and Ethiopia, so with the birth of this precious baby, it is contributed through the European Captive Breeding Program (EEP) so that this endangered species does not disappear.

Well adapted to arid climates, females give birth to a single baby after 12-13 months of gestation, being able to live with little food and even going days without drinking, with standing up to a loss of water of 30% of their body weight.

They dissipate heat thanks to their large ears, which also help them capture sounds from possible predators, from which they do not always flee, but sometimes manage to repel them by kicking and biting.

The males are very territorial and have a group of females that they protect and guard, while the less fortunate males live in groups of bachelors.

Un nuevo miembro de Asno Salvaje Somalí (Equus africanus somalicus) galopa por nuestra sabana de semi libertad junto a su madre.

Esta especie en peligro crítico de extinción, cuenta con menos de 200 ejemplares en libertad repartidos en pequeñas áreas de Eritrea y Etiopía, por lo que con el nacimiento de este precioso bebé se contribuye a través del Programa Europeo de cría en cautividad (EEP) a que ésta especie tan amenazada no desaparezca.

Bien adaptados a los climas áridos, las hembras paren un único bebé después de 12-13 meses de gestación, pudiendo llegar a vivir con poca comida e incluso pasando días sin beber, soportando hasta una pérdida de agua del 30% de su peso corporal.

Disipan el calor gracias a sus grandes orejas que también les ayudan a captar sonidos de posibles depredadores, de los que no siempre huyen, sino que a veces consiguen repeler mediante coces y mordiscos.

Los machos son muy territoriales y tienen un grupo de hembras a las que protege y custodia, mientras los machos menos afortunados viven en grupos de solteros.

Tabernas Desert 2022

On March 25, 26 and 27, the most extreme BTT sporting event will be held, the Tabernas Desert 2022, one of the toughest extreme bike race at national level, which will take place in Oasys MiniHollywood and the Tabernas Desert natural area on the 25th . The main route will be running through the natural environment and the departure and arrival of the participants will take place in our film set.

This bike race consists of three stages on three different days. Participants may choose to participate in one stage or all three, to test themselves in the XTREMDesert or PROdesert modalities, where they can compete individually, or in same-sex or mixed pairs.

During the journey, the participants will cross the largest desert in Europe and the sets of our park, where the start and finish circuit will be prepared in the main square of the western town.

Important runners at the national level will participate with all kinds of models of mountain bikes and extreme sports bikes, in this hard and difficult race for which they have been training for several months.

Thus, Oasys MiniHollywood supports, as always, sports and the promotion of the natural area of the Tabernas desert, as well as the province of Almería.

Tabernas Desert 2022

El 25, 26 y 27 de Marzo se celebrará el evento deportivo más extremo de BTT, la Tabernas Desert 2022, una de las pruebas más duras a nivel nacional que pasará por Oasys MiniHollywood y el paraje natural del Desierto de Tabernas el día 25. El recorrido principal transcurrirá por el entorno natural y la salida y llegada de los participantes tendrá lugar en el decorado cinematográfico.

Esta prueba consta de tres etapas en tres días diferentes. Los participantes podrán elegir participar en una sola etapa o en las tres, para ponerse a prueba en las modalidades de XTREMDesert o en la PROdesert, dónde podrán competir individualmente o por parejas del mismo sexo o mixtas. Durante el trayecto los participantes atravesarán el desierto más grande de Europa y los decorados de nuestro parque, con un circuito de salida y llegada en la plaza principal del poblado del Oeste.

En la prueba participarán importantes corredores a nivel nacional, con todo tipo de modelos de bicis de montaña y de deporte extremo, en una prueba de gran dureza y dificultad, para la cual llevan entrenándose varios meses.

De esta manera, Oasys MiniHollywood apoya una vez más el deporte y la promoción del paraje natural del desierto de Tabernas, así como de la provincia de Almería.

¨Kill them all and don´t come back alone¨

The short film by director Enrique Novials, «Kill him and don’t come back alone» will have its premiere at Oasys MiniHollywood with the presence of the main actresses, Emma Ros and Marzia Liuzzi, in addition to that of Enrique Novials.

After “Calamity Jane 1882”, which was already at the Almeria western festival, resulting in 31 nominations at festivals and 15 awards, the director makes his second installment of what will end up being a feminist western trilogy, since at this moment it is preparing the last production of the trilogy, “Letters to the daughter”.

It is a western with many nods to classic westerns, as the title itself indicates, since it is inspired by Castellari’s “Kill them and come back”, which was also shot in Almería.

Oasys MiniHollywood has been the perfect setting to set the new short by Novials, where Carol, the protagonist, tries everything to rescue her daughter, who has been kidnapped in a bank robbery by the Rubio’s gang. All hope seems to vanish until a bounty hunter, Diana, enters the scene.

Novials gives its protagonists the strength and female empowerment so typical of today, giving a twist to the classic western where women only appear as brides, wives or samaritans of love in the Wild West Saloons, thus breaking with the cliché of the Western genus.

On February 12, in addition to the usual Oasys MiniHollywood shows, customers will be able to attend the premiere of said film. At the end of the day, different passes will be given to enjoy this premiere at the Oasys MiniHollywood Saloon.

«MÁTALOS Y NO VUELVAS SOLA” (2022)

El cortometraje del director Enrique Novials, ¨Mátalos y no vuelvas sola¨ contará para su estreno en Oasys MiniHollywood con la presencia de las actrices principales, Emma Ros y Marzia Liuzzi,, además de la del propio Enrique Novials.

Después de “Calamity Jane 1882”, que ya estuvo en el festival western de Almeria consiguiente 31 nominaciones en festivales y 15 premios, el director, hace su segunda entrega de lo que acabará siendo una trilogía western feminista , puesto que en este momento se está preparando la última producción de la trilogía, “Cartas a la hija”.

Se trata de un western con numerosos guiños a westerns clásicos, como ya resulta indicativo con el mismo título, puesto que está inspirado en “Mátalos y vuelve”, de Castellari, que también se rodó en Almería.

Oasys MiniHollywood ha sido el escenario perfecto para ambientar el nuevo corto de Novials, dónde Carol, la protagonista, lo intenta todo para rescatar a su hija, que ha sido raptada en un atraco a un banco por la banda del Rubio. Toda esperanza parece desvanecerse hasta que una caza recompensas, Diana, entra en escena.

Novials da a sus protagonistas la fuerza y el empoderamiento femenino tan propios de la actualidad, dando un giro de tuercas al western clásico dónde las mujeres sólo aparecen como novias, esposas o samaritanas del amor en los Saloon del Lejano Oeste, rompiendo así con el cliché del género Western.

El día 12 de Febrero además de los espectáculos habituales de Oasys MiniHolywood los clientes podrán asistir a la premier de dicha película. Al finalizar la jornada se darán distintos pases para poder disfrutar de este estreno en el Saloon del Oasys MiniHollywood.

XVI Titan Series in Oasys MiniHollywood

This fantastic test of hardness and resistance has had a successful edition in the surroundings of Almería.

The names of Óscar Pujol and the German Naima Madlen, will go down in the history of the Titan Series Almería, as the winners of this first test developed in the natural environment of the Tabernas Desert.

Both participants won the stage 1 leaders’ jersey and have defended it by giving the best of themselves in a rigorous test, of great resistance and personal improvement.

XVI Titan Series en Oasys MiniHollywood

Después del éxito de la Titan Desert del año pasado, éste año la Organización retoma la prueba dentro del ámbito de la Titán Series Almería que ha desarrollado su primera edición en los decorados cinematográficos de Oasys MiniHollywood el pasado mes de Diciembre.

Ésta fantástica prueba de dureza y resistencia ha tenido una exitosa edición en el entorno de Almería.

Los nombre de Óscar Pujol y la alemana Naima Madlen, pasarán a la historia de la Titán Series Almería, como los vencedores de esta primera prueba desarrollada en el entorno natural del Desierto de Tabernas.

Ambos participantes, consiguieron el maillot de líderes de etapa 1 y lo han defendido dando lo mejor de sí mismos en una prueba rigurosa, de gran resistencia y de superación personal.

La provincia de Almería y todos los enclaves mágicos que la definen como el Parque Natural Cabo de Gata, Sierra Alamilla, Sierra de los Filabres y el único desierto de Europa, el Desierto de Tabernas fueron testigos de los mejores deportistas nacionales e internacionales.

El West Camp establecido en los decorados cinematográficos de Oasys MiniHollywood, recibió a los Titanes de la carrera de mountain-bike por etapas más aventurera del mundo.

Durante tres etapas, Oasys MiniHollywood se sumó a éste deportivo y extremo evento que promocionan la provincia de Almería, el deporte y la vida saludable.

La Organización y Oasys MiniHollywood ya preparan la Titán Series Almería del año 2022.

OLD WEST HISTORY IV OVERVIEW

On November 6 and 7, the IV International Historical Reenactment, Old West History, took place in the town of Oasys MiniHollywood. This event, unique in Spain, had a large number of national and international attendees and reenactors, who revived the American history of the 19th century.

During two days, it was possible to enjoy numerous activities related to the Far West, as well as re-enactments of events and historical episodes as famous as the duel of the O.K. Corral, the signing of the Fort Laramie treaty in 1868, the death of the iconic Wild Bill Hickok, or the assassination of Lincoln among others.

This year and maintaining COVID measures at all times, more than 220 historical reenactors from Spain, France, Germany, Italy or Argentina, participated in the performances. Among them, Codex Belix, Imperial Service, La Cruz de Victoria, 1707 Almansa historia, Marlene dietrich, Mountain Horse Ranch, Battle honorus, U.E.O, Lakota american West, Far West frontier, Glenteman Warfare, Casa Ambrosio- Apaches, Museo Histórico Militar de Granada or L’Epoque des Cavalcades.

During the two days and throughout the Oasys MiniHollywood film set, numerous reenactors’ stalls allowed us to relive the experiences of the Wild West walking among mythical characters such as Wyatt Earp, Buffalo Bill, Calamity Jane or Crazy Horse, among many others, with the participation of real actors.

In addition, one of the favorite activities among the youngest attendees was the exhibition of Playmobil dioramas -in charge of the Jorge Olaya family- and that of Madelman, both installed in the railroad train, as well as the demonstration of “dressage, lasso and ride in the western, cowboy life”.

Throughout the weekend at the Arizona buffet restaurant you could enjoy typical American dishes such as Mexican chili, pork ribs and other barbecue menus.

On Sunday at 18:30 p.m., after the last activities, the Historical Recreation was closed by its organizers, Leonardo Jiménez, Manuel Olaya and José María Rodríguez, who handed out the certificates of participation to each one. of the reenactors who made this magnificent event possible.

The fourth edition of this unique event in Spain has established itself as the most important event of the western genre in our country, with more than 1,500 visitors. We hope that the next edition will also be a complete success which will allow us to continue sponsoring leisure and history in the province of Almería.
