OLD WEST HISTORY IV

El pasado 6 y 7 de noviembre, tuvo lugar la IV Recreación Histórica Internacional, Old West History, en el poblado del Oeste Oasys MiniHollywood. Este evento, único en España, tuvo una gran cantidad de asistentes y recreadores nacionales e internacionales, que revivieron la historia americana del siglo XIX.

Durante dos días, se pudo disfrutar de numerosas actividades relacionadas con el Far West, así como recreaciones de acontecimientos y episodios históricos tan famosos como el duelo del O.K. Corral, la firma del tratado de Fort Laramie en 1868, la muerte del icónico Wild Bill Hickok o el asesinato de Lincoln entre otras.

Este año y manteniendo en todo momento las medidas COVID, más de 220 recreadores históricos provenientes de España, Francia, Alemania, Italia o Argentina, participaron en las actuaciones. Entre ellos, Codex Belix, Imperial Service, La Cruz de Victoria, 1707 Almansa historia, Marlene dietrich, Mountain Horse Ranch, Battle honorus, U.E.O, Lakota american West, Far West frontier, Glenteman Warfare, Casa Ambrosio- Apaches, Museo Histórico Militar de Granada o L’Epoque des Cavalcades.

Durante las dos jornadas y a lo largo del decorado cinematográfico de Oasys MiniHollywood, numerosos puestos de recreadores, nos permitían revivir las experiencias del Lejano Oeste caminando entre míticos personajes como Wyatt Earp, Buffalo Bill, Calamity Jane o Caballo Loco, entre otros muchos, con la participación de actores reales.

Además, una de las actividades favoritas entre los asistentes más jóvenes fue la exposición de dioramas de Playmobil -a cargo de la familia Jorge Olaya- y la de Madelman, ambas instaladas en el vagón del ferrocarril, así como la demostración de “doma, lazo y monta en el wéstern, vida del cowboy”.

Durante todo el fin de semana en el restaurante buffet Arizona se pudo disfrutar de platos típicos americanos como el chile mexicano, el costillar de cerdo y otros menús de barbacoa.

El domingo a las 18:30h, tras las últimas actividades, se procedió a la clausura de la Recreación Histórica a cargo de los organizadores del mismo, Leonardo Jiménez, Manuel Olaya y José María Rodríguez, los cuales entregaron los diplomas de participación a cada uno de los recreadores que hicieron posible este magnífico evento.

La cuarta edición de este evento único en España, se ha consolidado como el evento más importante del género Western en nuestro país, con más de mil quinientos visitantes. Esperamos que la próxima sea también un completo éxito y nos permita seguir patrocinando el ocio y la historia en la provincia de Almería.

Halloween 2021 at Oasys MiniHollywood

On October 31 and until November 1, Oasys MiniHollywood prepared the terrifying and fun Halloween party. The special decoration this year was distributed from the West Town, where visitors could take a photo with our Skeleton Cowboy, to the new Grill Restaurant of the Okavango where pumpkin figures and a great ghost welcomed.

A special dance program was prepared at the Yellow Rose Saloon, where our dancers, characterized as spectral souls, and our master of ceremonies, made all attendees tremble with fear. The Saloon was filled with cobwebs, bats, coffins and the undead, complying with the COVID-19 protocol at all times, they instilled fear and laughter in equal parts.

At the Arizona Restaurant buffet a wide variety of Halloween-themed dishes were prepared, such as cheese bats, Hell’s salad, casket sandwiches, mummy meatloaf, witch-hair spaghetti, giant’s Frankfurt fingers, the ghost meringues, and a great variety of other dishes, which were the delight of the little ones and also the oldest.

Oasys MiniHollywood completely set on Halloween and full of visitors dressed up for the occasion, offered its funniest and most surprising side.

Halloween 2021 en Oasys MiniHollywood

El pasado 31 de octubre y hasta el día 1 de noviembre, Oasys MiniHollywood preparó la terrorífica y divertida fiesta de Halloween. La decoración especial este año estuvo repartida desde el poblado del Oeste, donde los visitantes podían hacerse una foto con nuestro Esqueleto Cowboy, hasta el nuevo Restaurante Grill del Okavango donde los muñecos de calabaza y un gran fantasma daban la bienvenida.

Se preparó un programa especial de baile en el Saloon Yellow Rose, donde nuestras bailarinas caracterizadas como ánimas espectrales y nuestro maestro de ceremonias hicieron temblar de miedo a todos los asistentes. El Saloon se llenó de telarañas, murciélagos, ataúdes y muertos vivientes, cumpliendo con el protocolo COVID-19 en todo momento, infundieron miedo y risas a partes iguales.

En el buffet del Restaurante Arizona se prepararon una gran variedad de platos ambientados en la temática de Halloween, como murciélagos de queso, ensaladilla del Averno, sándwiches de ataúdes, pastel de carne de momia, espaguetis pelos de bruja, los dedos Frankfurt de gigante, los merengues fantasma, y una gran variedad de platos más, que fueron las delicias de los más pequeños y también de los más grandes.

Oasys MiniHollywood, completamente ambientado y lleno de visitantes disfrazados para la ocasión, ofreció su lado más divertido y sorprendente.

OLD WEST HISTORY IV

On November 6 and 7, the 4th Edition of the International Historical Recreation Old West History will be held, organized by Oasys MiniHollywood, Lamento Films by Manuel Olaya and the Armería Leonardo.

This year, as in previous editions, Historical Recreation activities of some battles that occurred during the 19th century will be carried out, such as the death of Wild Bill Hickock by the LAKOTA AMERICAN WEST Historical Recreation Association, Historical Reconstruction of the duel of Ok Corral, Historical reconstruction of the assassination of Abraham Lincoln, as well as a multitude of activities and camps of different themes, through which the visitor will be able to know what life was like in the Far West.

Both the Confederate and the Union sides, as well as the mining camp and even the Indian Village, will come to life with more than 150 Reenactors from all over Europe, spread throughout the western city of Oasys MiniHollywood.

In addition, throughout the day, there will be exhibitions and conferences such as the Playmobil and Madelman dioramas, or the Lectures on ¨Buffalo Bill the conquest of the east ¨ or the lecture on the battle of Little Big Horn, given by the historian Raúl Matarranz.

Also, at the Arizona Restaurant there will be culinary sessions inspired on the American dishes from the Wild West Era.

OLD WEST HISTORY IV

El 6 y 7 de Noviembre se celebrará la 4º Edición de la Recreación Histórico Internacional Old West History organizada por Oasys MiniHollywood, Lamento Films de Manuel Olaya y Armería Leonardo.

Este año, al igual que en las anteriores ediciones, se llevarán a cabo actividades de Recreaciones Históricas de algunas batallas ocurridas durante el siglo XIX, como por ejemplo la muerte de Wild Bill Hickock a cargo de la asociación histórica de Recreación LAKOTA AMERICAN WEST, la Reconstrucción histórica del duelo del Ok Corral, Reconstrucción histórica del asesinato de Abraham Lincoln, así como multitud de actividades y campamentos de distinta temática, a través de los cuales el visitante podrá conocer cómo era la vida en el Lejano Oeste.

Tanto los bandos de los Confederados, como los de la Unión, así como el campamento minero e incluso el Poblado Indio, cobrarán vida con más de 150 Recreadores de toda Europa, repartidos por toda la ciudad del Oeste de Oasys MiniHollywood.

Además, a lo largo de toda la jornada, se desarrollarán exposiciones y conferencias como la de Playmobil y dioramas Madelman, o las Conferencias sobre ¨Buffalo Bill la conquista del este ¨ o la conferencia de la batalla de Little Big Horn, impartida por el historiador Raúl Matarranz.

Sumado a todo esto, se desarrollarán jornadas gastronómicas de la época, basadas en los platos típicos americanos del Lejano Oeste; en el Restaurante Arizona.

Una ocasión única para descubrir de una forma divertida y diferente la historia del Lejano Oeste en un museo en vivo.

On October 8, the opening of the 11th Edition of the Almería Western Film Festival was held at the Saloon Yellow Rose of Oasys MiniHollywood in which one more year Senator Hotels and Resorts has been one of the largest sponsors of said event, betting on the culture and local development.

At the Festival, the ‘Leone in Memoriam’ award was awarded to Ennio Morricone, collected by his biographer Alessandro de Rosa, and the Tabernas Desert Award to the writer Sir Christopher Frayling (1946), a pioneer in the dissemination of the Tabernas Desert as a cinematographic setting.

With all the security and prevention measures, numerous events have been carried out, such as the official section of feature films, short films, presentation of literary works, the “probably” largest exhibition of Western Playmóbil in Spain, theater and music from the OCAL accompanying the symbolic act of the burial of the ¨Leone in Memoriam¨ Award to Ennio Morricone so that part of his spirit may rest in the cemetery of the MiniHollywood film set, where all the attendees who so wished could participate in the act.

Franco Nero, special guest at Oasys MiniHollywood, recalled all the films shot in the province of Almería surrounded by the specialists of our park in an emblematic afternoon in which he recalled his most risky actions in ¨Goodbye, Texas¨, ¨Los Locos del Oro Negro «,» Salary to kill «or» The companions «. El pasado 8 de Octubre se celebró en el Saloon Yellow Rose de Oasys MiniHollywood la inauguración de la 11 Edición del Almería Western Film Festival en la que un año más Senator Hotels and Resorts ha sido uno de los mayores patrocinadores de dicho evento, apostando por la cultura y el desarrollo local.

En el Festival se concedió el premio ‘Leone in Memoriam’ a Ennio Morricone, que recogió su biógrafo Alessandro de Rosa; y el Premio Desierto de Tabernas al escritor Sir Christopher Frayling (1946), pionero en la divulgación del Desierto de Tabernas como paraje cinematográfico.

Con todas las medidas de seguridad y prevención se han llevado a cabo numerosos eventos, como la sección oficial de largometrajes, cortometrajes, presentación de obras literarias, la posiblemente mayor exposición de Playmóbil Western de España, teatro y música de la OCAL acompañando al acto simbólico del enterramiento del Galardón ¨Leone in Memoriam¨ a Ennio Morricone para que parte de su espíritu descanse en el cementerio del decorado cinematográfico del MiniHollywood, dónde todos los asistentes que así lo desearon pudieron participar.

Franco Nero, invitado especial en Oasys MiniHollywood, recordó todas las películas rodadas en la provincia de Almería rodeado de los especialistas de nuestro parque en una tarde emblemática en la que recordó sus acciones más arriesgadas en ¨Adiós, Texas¨, ¨Los locos del Oro negro¨, ¨Salario para matar¨ o ¨Los compañeros¨. Además, el actor recibió el Premio Tabernas de Cine y aseguró que espera poder volver a rodar un Western en la provincia de Almería. Durante su estancia en Oasys MiniHollywood, se rodó la entrevista del Programa Días de Cine de TVE:

En la gala de clausura del Festival, se galardonó al director canario, ganador de cuatro premios Goya, Mateo Gil, por su película ¨Blackthorn¨, que fue integrada en la Sección Retrospectiva del festival.

Oasys MiniHollywood, junto al Ayuntamiento de Tabernas y demás colaboradores, ya están trabajando para preparar la siguiente Edición del Festival.

The opening session of the 11th Edition of the Almería Western Film Festival will take place at the Oasys MiniHollywood, on the 8th of October at the Yellow Rose Saloon.

With all the security and prevention measures, different events will take place such as the presentation of literary works, exhibition halls, theater, shows, and the awards ceremony to Christopher Frayling and the In Memoriam award to Ennio Morricone.

Therefore, the chameleonic actor Franco Nero, who has participated throughout his career in more than 200 films and has coincided with directors such as Luis Buñuel or Quentin Tarantino; will return to Tabernas to receive one of the most important awards at the Festival: the “Tabernas de Cine” award.

It is important to mention, among his numerous films , some of them developed at the Almería Film Sets; such as «Goodbye, Texas», «Salario para Matar», «Man, Pride and Revenge» and «Los locos del Oro Negro» among others.

The festival will be held until Monday October 11, with more than twenty activities, where it also stands out the musical performances of the OCAL Cuarteto de cuerda and the Cinematographic Screening of several feature films and short films as for example the film «The Companions», in honor of Nero’s professional career.

Besides all this, we can’t forget the little ones, who will find enough arguments in the Oasys MiniHollywood Park to have an unforgettable day.

La sesión inaugural del 11ª Edición del Almería Western Film Festival tendrá lugar en el Oasys MiniHollywood, la jornada del 8 de Octubre en el Yellow Rose Saloon.

Con todas las medidas de seguridad y prevención se desarrollarán diferentes eventos como la presentación de obras literarias, salas de exposiciones, teatro, espectáculos, y la entrega de premios a Christopher Frayling y el premio In Memoriam a Ennio Morricone.

Además, el camaleónico actor Franco Nero, que ha participado a lo largo de su carrera en más de 200 películas y ha coincidido con directores como Luis Buñuel o Quentin Tarantino, volverá a Tabernas para recibir uno de los premios más importantes del Festival: el premio Tabernas de Cine.

Cabe mencionar entre sus numerosas películas, algunas desarrolladas en los Decorados Cinematográficos de Almería, como por ejemplo ¨Adiós, Texas¨,¨Salario para Matar¨, ¨El hombre, el orgullo y la venganza¨ y ¨Los locos del Oro Negro¨ entre otras.

El festival se celebrará hasta el lunes 11 de Octubre, con más de una veintena de actividades, entre las que también debemos destacar las interpretaciones musicales del Cuarteto de cuerda de la OCAL, y la Proyección Cinematográfica de varios largometrajes y cortometrajes; como por ejemplo el film ¨Los compañeros¨, en honor a la trayectoria profesional del mencionado Franco Nero, entre otras.

Además de todo esto, no podemos olvidar a los más pequeños, que encontrarán en el Parque Oasys MiniHollywood argumentos suficientes para tener una jornada inolvidable.

Trabajadores Oasys con serpiente

A few months ago, the Unit of the National Police Corps Attached to the Autonomous Community of Andalusia, together with SOIVRE, rescued next to the garbage containers in Almería, a specimen of reticulated python (Malayopython reticulatus) of almost four meters length, which was deposited at the Oasys MiniHollywood Park facilities for their care and custody.

After a few weeks in which the animal was recovering from some of the problems it had at the time of its rescue, such as the difficulty of shedding of skin, inadequate feeding and malnutrition, the Department of Conservation of the Zoological Reserve began to look for a suitable facility and enabled for the needs of this species that could house it, since one of the characteristics of these animals is the little or no ability to coexist with other species, so due to its large size it could not stay too long in our facilities.

Thanks to the Iberian Association of Zoo and Aquariums (AIZA) of which the Oasys Park is a part and after consulting with all the members of said Association, finally the Lagos Zoo was willing to host said animal and even to design and build a suitable habitat for it.

This zoo that is located in the South of Portugal, carried out the necessary works to be able to receive it and once the appropriate permits had been processed from the administrations of both countries, members of the Oasys Park undertook the transfer of said animal to their new Zoo.

Thanks to the close collaboration between the National Police Force, the Soivre of Almería, the Lagos Zoo and Oasys MiniHollywood, this impressive specimen now enjoys a good quality of life.
